Sealing Flange, Drive Plate/Flywheel Side
Removing
- Remove the transmission.
- Remove the drive plate or flywheel, refer to one of the following:
=> [ Drive Plate ] Service and Repair.
=> [ Flywheel ] Service and Repair.
- Remove the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Oil Pan.
- Remove the sealing flange bolts - arrows - and sealing flange.
Installing
• Do not additionally oil or grease the sealing lip of the oil seal!
- Clean the sealing surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
- Before installing, remove any oil remaining on the end of the crankshaft with a clean cloth.
- To install, use the support sleeve provided. The support sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft. Sealing flange sits on the alignment pins.
- Tighten the bolts - arrows - to 15 Nm.
- Install the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Oil Pan.
The rest of the installation is basically a reverse of the removal sequence.
