Installation (from 07/2011)

STEERING COLUMN: STEERING WHEEL (for Hatchback): INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).

1. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL LOWER BOSS COVER

(a) Engage the 4 claws and install the steering wheel lower boss cover.

2. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System) Installation (from 07/2011)

3. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch)

(a) Engage the 4 claws and 4 guides and install the steering pad switch assembly.

(b) Install the 2 screws.

Torque : 2.4 Nm (24 kgf-cm, 21 in-lbf)

4. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation (from 07/2011)

5. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Align the matchmarks and install the steering wheel assembly onto the steering column assembly.

(b) Install the nut.

Torque : 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect all the connectors to the spiral cable.

6. INSTALL STEERING PAD

Installation (from 07/2011)

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
