SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback 3 Door): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).

HINT
The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

3. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type LH Side)

4. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type RH Side)

5. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Fold Down Seat Type)

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal (from 07/2011)

7. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP Removal (from 07/2011)

8. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 3 claws to remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.

(b) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor part of the front seat outer belt assembly.

9. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

10. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH Removal (from 07/2011)

11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and the shoulder anchor.

(b) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, release the locking button.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.

(e) Disengage the 2 hooks and remove the front seat outer belt assembly.
