Removal

BRAKE: BRAKE BOOSTER: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

HINT
Refer to the instructions for Removal of the brake master cylinder sub-assembly Removal.

2. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring.





3. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Remove the clip and the push rod pin, and separate the master cylinder push rod clevis.

4. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE (for 2AR-FE without Ejector Tube)

(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake vacuum check valve.





(b) Remove the 2 nuts and separate the vacuum hose.





5. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE (for 2AR-FE with Ejector Tube)

(a) Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses from the 2 brake vacuum check valves.





(b) Remove the 2 nuts and separate the 2 vacuum hoses.





6. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE (for 2GR-FE)

(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake vacuum check valve.





7. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 nuts and the brake booster assembly.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake lines.

8. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET

(a) Remove the brake booster gasket.





9. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Loosen the lock nut and remove the brake master cylinder push rod clevis.

10. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) for 2AR-FE without Ejector Tube, 2GR-FE

(1) Remove the brake vacuum check valve assembly from the brake booster assembly.

(b) for 2AR-FE with Ejector Tube

(1) Remove the 2 brake vacuum check valve assemblies from the brake booster assembly.

11. REMOVE CHECK VALVE GROMMET

(a) for 2AR-FE without Ejector Tube, 2GR-FE

(1) Remove the check valve grommet from the brake booster assembly.

(b) for 2AR-FE with Ejector Tube

(1) Remove the 2 check valve grommets from the brake booster assembly.
