DESCRIPTION

* Driver side door control switch

The main body ECU (instrument panel J/B) receives switch signals from the driver side door control switch (power window regulator master switch) via LIN communication and activates the door lock motor on each door according to these signals.

* Front passenger side door control switch

The main body ECU (instrument panel J/B) receives switch signals from the front passenger side door control switch and activates the door lock motor on each door according to these signals.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
The power door lock control system uses the LIN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the LIN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Driver side door control switch:

(1) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Master Switch / Data List.

(2) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Master Switch:





OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition column.

(e) Front passenger side door control switch:

(1) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(2) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Main Body:





OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition column.

Result:





C -- INSPECT DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

B -- REPLACE DRIVER SIDE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

A -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. INSPECT DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the door control switch assembly.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the door control switch connector.





(b) Disconnect the ECU (instrument panel J/B) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B)
