2GR-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: REMOVAL

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD

6. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING CONTROL BRACKET

7. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET FRONT NO.1 LH

8. REMOVE FAN & GENERATOR V BELT

9. SEPARATE RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET

(a) Separate the radiator hose outlet.





10. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING

(a) Separate the water hose.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and water inlet housing.

(c) Remove the water inlet housing gasket No.1 and water outlet pipe O-ring.





11. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

12. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY

(a) Using SST, hold the water pump pulley.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and water pump pulley.

13. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt, No. 2 idler pulley cover plate, idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly (FR side).





HINT
Plate diameter:

Idler pulley cover plate: 33.6 mm (1.32 in.)

No. 2 idler pulley cover plate: 37.8 mm (1.49 in.)

(b) Remove the bolt, No. 2 idler pulley cover plate, idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly (RR side).





HINT
Plate diameter:

Idler pulley cover plate: 33.6 mm (1.32 in.)

No. 2 idler pulley cover plate: 37.8 mm (1.49 in.)

(c) Remove the bolt and idler pulley.





NOTICE:
Be careful when loosening the bolt because it is left-hand threaded.

14. SEPARATE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

15. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 16 bolts, water pump assembly and water pump gasket.
