Removal (from 12/2010)





PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Precaution (from 12/2010).

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER FRONT LH Removal (from 12/2010)

4. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER FRONT LH Removal (from 12/2010)

5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER LH REAR OUTER Removal (from 12/2010)

6. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER LH Removal (from 12/2010)

7. REMOVE FRONT LH SEAT ASSEMBLY Removal (from 12/2010)

8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal (from 12/2010)

9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal (from 12/2010)

15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX UPPER

16. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER

17. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal (from 12/2010)

18. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX FRONT Removal (from 12/2010)

19. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX DUCT NO.1

20. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY

21. REMOVE SHIFT & SELECT LEVER SUPPORT

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and shift & select lever support from the body.





22. DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.4

(a) Release the parking brake.





(b) Hold the nut on the parking brake cable assembly No.1 using a wrench. Loosen and disconnect the turnbuckle of the parking brake cable assembly No.4 from the parking brake cable assembly No.1 using a wrench.

(c) Slide the boot as shown in the illustration.





(d) Remove the parking brake cable assembly No.4 from the parking brake equalizer as shown in the illustration.





23. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the clip and separate the parking brake cable assembly No.1 from the cable support bracket.





(b) Remove the bolt, 3 nuts and clamp, and separate the parking brake cable assembly No.1 from the body.

(c) Disconnect the connector.





(d) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly from the body.
