DESCRIPTION

The door unlock detection switch is built in the door lock assembly.

This switch is ON when the door lock knob is in the unlock position and OFF when the knob is in the lock position. It is used as one of the operating conditions for the key confinement prevention function.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH)

(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the tester on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the tester.

Main Body:





OK:

On the tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.

NG -- INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH (DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH (DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH)

(a) Remove the front door lock assembly RH.





(b) Measure the resistance of the door unlock detection switch.

Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B)

(a) Disconnect the D6 and G9 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
