DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING:

If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.

- Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
- Perform the test extremely carefully.
- Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.

1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Drive vehicle at 30 - 50 km/h (19 - 31 mile/h) for 5 min. at 5th gear or D range. (Keep throttle valve opening constant in this step.)

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check Engine and Emission Control System Check.

2. EVAP canister purge valve power supply circuit check

Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Disconnect connector from EVAP canister purge valve.
Check for proper terminal connection to EVAP canister purge valve connector.
If connections are OK, push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
Check that "A1" circuit voltage is battery voltage between EVAP canister purge valve connector and ground.

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.

3. EVAP canister purge valve drive circuit check

Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
Disconnect "C01" and "E01" connectors.
Check the following points.
- Resistance of "B1" circuit: less than 1 ohms
- Resistance of "B1" circuit between EVAP canister purge valve connector and ground: infinity
- Resistance between "B1" circuit terminal and each terminal at EVAP canister purge valve connector: infinity
- Voltage of "B1" circuit: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.

4. EVAP canister purge valve check

Check EVAP canister purge valve for resistance. Testing and Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Replace ECM and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO -
Replace EVAP canister purge valve. Throttle Body and Intake Manifold Components
