P0300
DTC P0300 / P0301 / P0302 / P0303 / P0304
System Description
ECM measures the angle of the crankshaft based on the pulse signals from the CKP sensor and CMP sensor for each cylinder. If it detects a large change in the angle speed of the crankshaft, it is concluded as the occurrence of a misfire. When the number of misfire is counted by ECM is beyond the DTC detecting condition, it determines the cylinder where the misfire occurred and outputs it as DTC.
DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
DTC Confirmation Procedure
WARNING:
If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
- Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
- Perform the test extremely carefully.
- Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.
NOTE:
- Be sure to troubleshoot first unexpected DTCs previously detected in "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- Confirm that the following conditions are met in this "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- 10 V < Battery voltage < 16 V
- ECT >= -10 °C (14 °F)
- 450 rpm <= Engine speed < 6500 rpm (CVT model)
- 500 rpm <= Engine speed < 6500 rpm (M/T model)
- DTC P0102, P0103, P0335 or P0340 is not detected.
1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Drive vehicle at 80 - 100 km/h (50 - 62 mile/h) for 10 min. (Keep engine speed at 2,500 - 4,000 rpm in this step.)
