DTC Confirmation Procedure
NOTE:
Be sure to troubleshoot first unexpected DTCs previously detected in "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
DTC P0116:
NOTE:
Confirm that the following conditions are met in this "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- ECT < 70 °C (158 °F)
- DTC P0102, P0103, P0117 or P0118 is not detected.
1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Run engine at idle speed for 2 min.
DTC P0125:
NOTE:
Confirm that the following conditions are met in this "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- ECT at engine started < 10 °C (50 °F)
- DTC P0102, P0103, P0117 or P0118 is not detected.
3) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
4) Run engine at idle speed for 5 min.
DTC P0128:
NOTE:
Confirm that the following conditions are met in this "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- IAT at engine started > -10 °C (14 ° F)
- -10 °C (14 °F) < ECT at engine started < 58 °C (136.4 °F)
- DTC P0102, P0103, P0117 or P0118 is not detected.
5) Start engine.
6) Drive vehicle at 60 - 100 km/h (37 - 62 mile/h) for 10 min.
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check Engine and Emission Control System Check.
2. DTC check
Check DTC.
Is there DTC(s) other than P0116, P0125 and P0128?
YES -
Go to applicable DTC(s).
NO -
Go to Step 3.
3. ECT sensor signal circuit and ground circuit check
Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Disconnect "C01", "E01" and ECT sensor connectors.
Check for proper terminal connection to "C01", "E01" and ECT sensor connectors.
If connections are OK, check the following points.
- Resistance of each "A1" and "A2" circuits: less than 1 ohms
- Resistance of "A1" circuit between ECT sensor connector and ground: infinity
- Resistance between "A1" circuit terminal and each terminal at ECT sensor connector: infinity
- Voltage of "A1" and "A2" circuits: (0 - 1 V with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")
Are they in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
4. ECT sensor check
Check ECT sensor. ECT Sensor Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 5.
NO -
Replace ECT sensor. ECT Sensor Removal and Installation
5. Thermostat check
Check thermostat. Thermostat Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Replace ECM and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO -
Replace thermostat. Thermostat Removal and Installation
