DTC Confirmation Procedure
WARNING:
If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
- Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
- Perform the test extremely carefully.
- Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.
NOTE:
- Be sure to troubleshoot first unexpected DTCs previously detected in "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- Confirm that the following conditions are met in this "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- ECT > 70 °C (158 °F)
- DTC P0112, P0113, P0117 or P0118 is not detected.
1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Drive vehicle at 60 - 100 km/h (37 - 62 mile/h) for more than 10 min.
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check Engine and Emission Control System Check.
2. DTC check
Check DTC.
Is there DTC(s) other than P0111?
YES -
Go to applicable DTC(s).
NO -
Go to Step 3.
3. IAT sensor signal circuit and ground circuit check
Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Disconnect "C01", "E01" and MAF & IAT sensor connectors.
Check for proper terminal connection to "C01", "E01" and MAF & IAT sensor connectors.
If connections are OK, check the following points.
- Resistance of each "B1" and "B2" circuits: less than 1 ohms
- Resistance of "B1" circuit between MAF & IAT sensor connector and ground: infinity
- Resistance between "B1" circuit terminal and each terminal at MAF & IAT sensor connector: infinity
- Resistance between "B2" circuit terminal and each terminal at MAF & IAT sensor connector: infinity
Are they in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
4. IAT sensor check
Check IAT sensor. Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Replace ECM and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO -
Replace MAF & IAT sensor. Removal and Installation
