Drive Intermediate Shaft Assembly Removal and Installation
NOTE:
Oil leaks will occur if the oil seal lip is damaged.
Do not pull out or push in the drive intermediate shaft aslant. Slide the shaft in axial direction.
Removal
1) Drain transaxle oil.
- 6M/T model: Removal and Replacement
- CVT model: Removal and Replacement
2) Remove right side front drive shaft assembly. Front Drive Shaft Assembly Removal and Installation
3) Remove intermediate support bolts (1) and drive intermediate shaft assembly (2) from transaxle.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure for installation noting the following points:
- Use new circlip.
- Tighten intermediate support bolts (1) in numerical order as shown in figure.
1) Temporarily tighten intermediate support bolts in numerical order ("1" - "3").
2) Tighten intermediate support bolts to specified torque in numerical order ("4" - "6").
Tightening torque
Intermediate support bolt* (a): 55 Nm (5.6 kgf-m, 40.5 lbf-ft)
