DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

Circuit Diagram

DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING:

If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.

- Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
- Perform the test extremely carefully.
- Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.

NOTE:

- If other DTC than P0711 is newly detected during this "DTC Confirmation Procedure", troubleshoot the newly detected DTC in first.
- Confirm that the following conditions are met in this procedure.

- Battery voltage > 10.5 V

1) Drive vehicle at more than 50 km/h (31 mile/h) for 7 min.
2) Stop vehicle.
3) Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF", and leave ignition mode in "OFF" for 10 sec.
4) Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
5) Repeat Step 1) through 2) twice.

DTC Troubleshooting

1. Was "CVT System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to CVT System Check CVT System Check.
2. CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit check
Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Disconnect "C142", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
Check for proper terminal connection to "C142", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
If connections are OK, check the following points.
Resistance of "A1" and "A2" circuits: less than 1
Resistance of "A1" circuit between "C142" connector and ground: infinity
Resistance between "A1" circuit terminal and each terminal at "C142" connector: infinity
Voltage of "A1" and "A2" circuits: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")
Are they in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
3. CVT fluid temperature sensor check
Check CVT fluid temperature sensor. Testing and Inspection
Are they in good condition?
YES
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO
Replace CVT fluid temperature sensor (CVT assembly). CVT Assembly Dismounting and Remounting
