DTC Confirmation Procedure
WARNING:
If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
- Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
- Perform the test extremely carefully.
- Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.
NOTE:
- If other DTC than P0707 is newly detected during this "DTC Confirmation Procedure", troubleshoot the newly detected DTC in first.
- Confirm that the following conditions are met in this procedure.
- Battery voltage > 10.5 V
1) Drive vehicle at more than 10 km/h (6 mile/h) for 20 sec.
2) Stop vehicle.
3) Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF", and leave ignition mode in "OFF" for 10 sec.
4) Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
5) Repeat Step 1) through 2) twice.
DTC Troubleshooting
1. Was "CVT System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to CVT System Check CVT System Check.
2. Transmission range sensor circuit check for operation using SUZUKI scan tool
Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC.
Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
Check transmission range signal ("P", "R", "N", "D") on scan tool display when shifting select lever to each range.
Is applicable range indicated?
YES
Check for intermittent trouble. Intermittent Connection and Poor Contact Inspection
NO
Go to Step 3.
3. Select cable adjustment check
Check select cable for adjustment. Procedures
Is it adjusted correctly?
YES
Go to Step 4.
NO
Adjust select cable and recheck DTC.
4. Transmission range sensor adjustment check
Check transmission range sensor for adjustment. Adjustments
Is it adjusted correctly?
YES
Go to Step 5.
NO
Adjust transmission range sensor and recheck DTC.
5. Transmission range sensor power supply voltage check
Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
Disconnect "C166" connector.
Check for proper terminal connection to "C166" connector.
If connections are OK, push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
Check that voltage between "B1" circuit and ground is battery voltage.
Is it in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 6.
NO
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
6. Transmission range sensor signal circuit check
Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
Disconnect "C166", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
Check for proper terminal connection to "C166", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
If connections are OK, check the following points.
Resistance of "A1", "A2", "A3" and "A4" circuits: less than 3
Resistance between each of "A1", "A2", "A3" and "A4" circuits and ground: infinity
Are they in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 7.
NO
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
7. Transmission range sensor check
Check transmission range sensor. Transmission Range Sensor Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO
Replace transmission range sensor. Transmission Range Sensor Removal and Installation
