Removal





INTERIOR: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the deck board assembly.





3. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR SEAT LEG COVER RH Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR SEAT LEG COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR SEAT LEG COVER LH Removal

6. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY RH Removal

7. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY LH Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

(a) Disengage the 8 claws to remove the front door scuff plate.





9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws.





(b) Disengage the claw and the 2 guides to remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.





11. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and the 2 guides to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

12. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

(a) Disengage the 3 guides to remove the cowl side trim board.





13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

(a) Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.





15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

16. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

(a) Disengage the 6 claws to remove the rear door scuff plate.





17. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

18. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

(a) Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.





19. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

20. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER

(a) Disengage the 2 clips, the 4 claws and the 4 guides to remove the rear deck trim cover.





21. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY





HINT
Use the same procedure for both sides.

(a) Remove the bolt and the luggage hold belt striker assembly.

22. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Remove the rear seat outer belt assembly from the rear seat shoulder belt hanger.





(b) Remove the bolt.

(c) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the floor anchor.

23. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

24. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Disengage the 4 clips, the 7 claws and the screw to remove the deck trim side panel assembly RH.





25. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disengage the 4 clips, the 7 claws and the screw to remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH.





(b) Disconnect the luggage compartment light connector.

26. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Pull the roof side inner garnish assembly towards yourself, and detach the 4 clips (do not detach clip A).

(b) Detach the 2 claws of the guide to remove the roof side inner garnish assembly toward the front or the vehicle.

HINT
Clip A remains attached to the body side.

(c) Remove clip A from the vehicle body.

27. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

28. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP





HINT
Use the same procedure for both sides.

(a) Pull portion A, shown in the illustration, toward you and remove the 2 claws on the lower side followed by the claw on the upper side. Then remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Remove the bolt, through anchor and front seat outer belt assembly.





30. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

31. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH

(a) Disengage the 2 clips and the 4 claws to remove the center pillar lower garnish.





32. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

33. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH

(a) Disengage the 2 clips and the guide to remove the center pillar upper garnish.





34. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

35. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

(a) Using a moulding remover, pull the upper part of the front pillar garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.

HINT
The clip A should remain between the front pillar garnish and the pillar.

(b) Using needle-nosed pliers, turn the clip A 90° and disengage it from the front pillar garnish.

NOTICE:
* As a clip A is reusable, do not remove it from the pillar as long as it is not damaged.
* Replace the clip A with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.

HINT
Tape the needle-nosed pliers tip before use.

(c) Disengage the guide and the claw to remove the front pillar garnish.

(d) Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

(1) Cover the airbag with a cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.

Protective cover size:





NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

36. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

37. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP





HINT
Use the same procedure to remove all assist grips.

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws to remove the assist grip cover.

(b) Disengage the 2 springs to remove the assist grip.





38. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws to remove the visor bracket cover.





NOTICE:
Visor bracket cover cannot be reused.

(b) Remove the visor shaft from the visor holder.





(c) Disengage the 2 springs to remove the visor assembly.

39. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

40. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER RH

(a) Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.





(b) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the visor holder.

41. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

42. REMOVE ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 4 claws to remove the room light lens.

(e) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 4 claws to remove the room light switch base.

43. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws to remove the map light assembly.





(b) Disconnect the connectors.

44. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

46. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

47. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY Removal

48. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

49. REMOVE REAR CENTER SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY Removal

50. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER Removal

51. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the antenna cord connector.





(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clamps.

(c) Disconnect the roof wire connector.





(d) Using a clip remover, remove the 5 clamps.

(e) Using a clip remover, remove the clip.





(f) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the back door.





52. REMOVE REAR ROOF SILENCER PAD

(a) Remove the rear roof silencer pad.





53. REMOVE REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER RH

(a) Remove the 2 adhesive portions and the rear side rail spacer.





54. REMOVE REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

55. REMOVE ROOF WIRE

(a) Remove the 10 pieces of tape.





(b) Remove the roof wire from the roof headlining assembly.

56. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
