FRONT SUSPENSION: FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER: REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK
Removal
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
3. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and separate the front speed sensor and front flexible hose.
4. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the nut and separate the stabilizer link assembly from the front shock absorber.
HINT
If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a wrench to hold the stud bolt.
5. SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the cotter pin and castle nut.
(b) Install SST (spacer B) to the threaded section of the tie rod end sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Make sure the upper ends of the threaded section of the tie rod end and SST (spacer B) are aligned.
(c) Using SST, separate the tie rod end from the front axle assembly.

NOTICE:
* Make sure to tie the string of SST to the vehicle to prevent SST from dropping.
* Install SST so that A and B are parallel.
* Be sure to place the wrench on the part indicated in the illustration.
* Do not damage the ball joint dust cover.
* Do not damage the front disc brake dust cover.
6. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT DUST COVER
7. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
(a) Using SST and a long socket hexagon wrench 6, loosen the front support to front shock absorber nut of the front shock absorber.

NOTICE:
* Do not remove the front support to front shock absorber nut.
* Loosen the nut only when the front shock absorber with coil spring needs to be disassembled.
(b) Remove the 2 nuts and 2 bolts and separate the front shock absorber with coil spring from the steering knuckle.
HINT
Keep the bolt from rotating while loosening and removing the nuts.
(c) Remove the 3 nuts and the front shock absorber with coil spring.
