Installation
1NR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL NO. 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Install the No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Install the No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 4 bolts and the nut.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET
(a) Place the new exhaust manifold to head gasket
4. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the exhaust manifold converter, tightening the 2 new nuts and 3 new bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque : 28 Nm (286 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)
5. INSTALL MANIFOLD STAY
(a) Temporarily tighten the manifold stay with the new bolt and new nut.
(b) Fully tighten the manifold stay with the bolt and nut in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque : 28 Nm (286 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)
6. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Install the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 2 nuts and the bolt.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
7. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE GASKET (for Front Side) Installation
8. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE GASKET (for Rear Side) Installation
9. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression springs.
Minimum Length:
If the length is not as specified, replace the compression spring.
(b) Install the front exhaust pipe assembly to the exhaust manifold with the 2 bolts and the 2 compression springs.
Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
(c) Install the front exhaust pipe assembly to the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts and the 2 compression springs.
Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
(d) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
