Disassembly

U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: SHIFT LEVER: DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Twist the shift lever knob in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.





2. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the floor shift position indicator housing assembly from the lower position indicator housing.

3. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the shift lock release button cover from the floor shift position indicator housing assembly.





4. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT GUIDE





(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the position indicator light guide from the lower position indicator housing.

5. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER





(a) Remove the position indicator slide cover together with the No. 2 position indicator slide cover.

6. REMOVE NO. 2 POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER





(a) Remove the No. 2 position indicator slide cover from the position indicator slide cover.

7. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the position indicator light wire socket and connector from the shift lock control unit.

(b) Using a screwdriver, release the stopper.





(c) Using a screwdriver, disengage the locking lugs of terminals 7 and 14, and then pull the terminals out from the rear of the connector.

8. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT BULB

(a) Remove the bulb and cap from the indicator light wire socket.

9. REMOVE LOWER POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING





(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the lower position indicator housing from the shift lock control unit.

10. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU

(a) Disconnect the shift lock solenoid connector from the shift lock control ECU.





(b) Detach the 3 claws and remove the shift lock control ECU from the shift lock control unit.
