DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the engine switch illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ENGINE SWITCH ILLUMINATION)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test Interior Lighting System.

OK:

Engine switch illumination illuminates.

NG -- INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System

2. INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH

(a) Remove the engine switch Removal.





(b) Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 11 (SWIL) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (GND).

(c) Check that the engine switch illumination illuminates.

OK:

Engine switch illumination illuminates.

NG -- REPLACE ENGINE SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the C35 certification ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the C15 engine switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal
