DESCRIPTION

The turn signal flasher receives a turn signal switch signal from the headlight dimmer switch and illuminates the front turn signal light, side turn signal light and rear combination light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the headlight dimmer switch assembly Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the C10 headlight dimmer switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) for LH:

(1) Disconnect the A5 front turn signal light connector.

(2) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(b) for RH:

(1) Disconnect the A6 front turn signal light connector.

(2) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) for LH:

(1) Disconnect the E7 side turn signal light connector.

(2) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(b) for RH:

(1) Disconnect the D8 side turn signal light connector.

(2) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) for LH:

(1) Disconnect the H3 rear combination light connector.

(2) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(b) for RH:

(1) Disconnect the H4 rear combination light connector.

(2) Disconnect the C19 turn signal flasher connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Exterior Lighting System
