Control Assembly: Testing and Inspection
HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING PANEL: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the heater control resistance.
(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance and check the results in accordance with the values in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 heater control sub-assembly.

(b) Check the F/R indicator operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 (A/C+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (REC).
(2) Push the F/R switch in and check that the indicator lights up.
Standard:
Indicator lights up
If the result is not as specified, replace the heater control.
(c) Check the illumination operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 (ILL+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (ILL-) and check that the bulb illuminates.
Standard:
Bulb illuminates
If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb.
2. INSPECT NO. 2 HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the heater control resistance.
(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance and check the results in accordance with the values in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 heater control sub-assembly.

(b) Check the illumination operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 (ILL+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (ILL-) and check that the bulb illuminates.
Standard:
Bulb illuminates
If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb.
(c) Check the Rr. DEF indicator operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 (IG) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (E).
(2) Push the Rr. DEF switch in and check that the indicator lights up.
Standard:
Indicator lights up
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 heater control sub-assembly.
3. INSPECT NO. 3 HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the heater control knob resistance.
(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance and check the results in accordance with the values in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 3 heater control sub-assembly.
