Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

* The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) blinks the clock assembly (security indicator light) when the immobiliser is set (the engine switch is off).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
* Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to Registration Engine Immobilizer System (w/ Smart Key System).

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Engine Immobilizer System (w/ Smart Key System).

OK:

DTC is not output.

NG -- Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Engine Immobilizer System (W/ Smart Key System)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Check that the clock assembly (security indicator light) illuminates when operating it with the Active Test Engine Immobilizer System (w/ Smart Key System).

Smart Key





OK:

Clock assembly (security indicator light) can be turned on and off using Techstream.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM STATUS)

(a) Turn the engine switch off.

HINT
When using the Techstream with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:

Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

(b) Using the Techstream, read the Data List Engine Immobilizer System (w/ Smart Key System).

OK:

"Set" appears on screen.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the C16 clock assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the C35 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. REPLACE CLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily replace the clock assembly with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) When the immobiliser is set (the engine switch is off), check that the clock assembly (security indicator light) blinks.

OK:

Clock assembly (security indicator light) blinks.

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal

OK -- END (CLOCK ASSEMBLY [SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT] IS DEFECTIVE)

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the C35 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:
