Hazard Warning Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the hazard warning signal switch is turned on, the turn signal flasher assembly in the main body ECU turns on to flash the hazard warning signal lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (TURN-HAZ)




(a) Remove the TURN-HAZ fuse from the engine room relay block.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





(c) Reinstall the TURN-HAZ fuse.
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH




(a) Remove the hazard warning signal switch.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





(c) Reinstall the hazard warning signal switch.
NG -- REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU)




(a) Disconnect the C35 hazard warning signal switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the 2S main body ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





(d) Reconnect the hazard warning signal switch connector.
(e) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the C35 hazard warning signal switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





(c) Reconnect the hazard warning signal switch connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN-HAZ FUSE - MAIN BODY ECU)




(a) Disconnect the 2B main body ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:





(c) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the 2E main body ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





(c) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU




(a) Remove the main body ECU.
(b) Remove the turn signal flasher assembly from the main body ECU.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





(d) Reinstall the turn signal flasher assembly.
(e) Reinstall the main body ECU.
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
OK -- REPLACE TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY
