STEERING LINKAGE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST, install the left turn pressure tube to the steering link assembly.
SST: 09023-38201
Torque: 22 Nm (224 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
HINT:
- Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).
- This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.

(b) Using SST, install the right turn pressure tube to the steering link assembly.
SST: 09023-38201
Torque: 22 Nm (224 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
HINT:
- Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).
- This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.





(c) Install the power steering link assembly with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.
Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)
NOTICE: Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Torque the bolt with the nut fixed.





2. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT
(a) Align the matchmarks on the intermediate shaft and the pinion shaft.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Using a transmission jack, support the crossmember with power steering link.
(b) Install the crossmember with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 133 Nm (1,356 kgf-cm, 98 ft-lbf)





(c) Install the crossmember bracket LH with the 4 bolts.
Bolt A - Torque: 133 Nm (1,356 kgf-cm, 98 ft-lbf)
Bolt B - Torque: 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft-lbf)





(d) Install the crossmember bracket RH with the 4 bolts.
Bolt A - Torque: 133 Nm (1,356 kgf-cm, 98 ft-lbf)
Bolt B - Torque: 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft-lbf)





(e) Install the engine mounting insulator rear to the crossmember with the bolt and the 3 nuts.
Torque: 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft-lbf)





(f) Install the center member with the 4 bolts.
Bolt A - Torque: 45 Nm (459 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf)
Bolt B - Torque: 72 Nm (734 kgf-cm, 53 ft-lbf)





5. INSTALL NO. 1 HOOK
(a) Install the hook with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 39 Nm (398 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)
6. CONNECT FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH LOWER Installation
7. CONNECT FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH LOWER
HINT: Perform the same procedure as for the LH.

8. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH Installation
9. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as for the LH.

10. CONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST, connect the pressure feed tube assembly.
SST: 09023-12701
Torque: 41 Nm (414 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
HINT:
- Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 345 mm (13.58 in.).
- This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.





(b) Install the tube clamp with the bolt to the power steering link assembly.
Torque: 7.8 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 69 in-lbf)
11. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
12. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as for the LH.

13. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY CENTER Installation
14. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR PANEL BRACE Installation
15. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
16. CONNECT NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY





17. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks on the intermediate shaft assembly and the intermediate shaft.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
18. INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET Installation
19. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
20. ADD POWER STEERING FLUID
21. BLEED POWER STEERING FLUID Power Steering System
22. CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Power Steering System
23. CHECK FOR FLUID LEAKS
24. INSTALL HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
25. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY Adjustments
26. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust front wheel alignment Front Wheel Alignment.
27. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
28. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
