SUSPENSION: FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP Removal
3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM LH Removal
4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM RH
5. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL Removal
6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH Removal
7. DISCONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Place a wooden block on a jack, and support the front No. 1 suspension lower arm LH with the jack.
(b) Remove the nut and disconnect the front stabilizer link assembly LH from the shock absorber with coil spring.
HINT: Use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud if the ball joint turns together with the nut.
8. DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH
(a) Remove the bolt, and then disconnect the front No. 1 flexible hose and speed sensor.
NOTE: Be sure to completely disconnect the speed sensor from the shock absorber assembly.
9. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
(a) Remove the front suspension support dust cover.
(b) Loosen the lock nut.
NOTICE:
- Do not loosen except when disassembling the shock absorber assembly with coil spring.
- Do not remove the lock nut.
(c) Remove the 2 nuts on the lower side of the shock absorber with coil spring.
NOTE: Keep the bolts inserted.
(d) Remove the 3 nuts on the upper side of the shock absorber with coil spring.
(e) Lower the jack slowly. Remove the 2 bolts on the lower side and the shock absorber with coil spring.
NOTE: Ensure that the speed sensor is completely disconnected from the shock absorber with coil spring.
