DTC B1655/37 - Driver Side Seat Belt Buckle Switch Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt buckle switch (driver side) circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the front seat inner belt LH (seat belt buckle switch (driver side)).
DTC B1655/37 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the seat belt buckle switch (driver side) circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC





(a) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(b) Clear the DTCs stored in memory DTC Check / Clear.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(e) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1655/37 is not output.
HINT: Codes other than code B1655/37 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

NG -- CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS
OK -- PERFORM SYMPTOM SIMULATION
2. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor and the front seat inner belt LH.
OK:
The connectors are connected.
NG -- CONNECT CONNECTORS
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK FLOOR WIRE (OPEN)





(a) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor.
(b) Disconnect the connectors from the horn button.
(c) Disconnect the connectors from the front passenger airbag.
(d) Disconnect the connector from the No. 1 instrument panel airbag lower.
(e) w/ Side and curtain shield airbag:
Disconnect the connector from the front seat airbag LH.
(f) w/ Side and curtain shield airbag:
Disconnect the connector from the front seat airbag RH.
(g) w/ Side and curtain shield airbag:
Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag LH.
(h) w/ Side and curtain shield airbag:
Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag RH.
(i) Disconnect the connector from the front seat outer belt LH.
(j) Disconnect the connector from the front seat outer belt RH.
(k) Using a service wire, connect F6-1 and F6-3 of connector "C".
NOTE: Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting.
(l) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT)





(a) Disconnect the service wire from connector "C".
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FLOOR WIRE (TO B+)





(a) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK FLOOR WIRE (TO GROUND)





(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Connect the connectors to the center airbag sensor.
(b) Connect the connector to the front seat inner belt LH.
(c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(e) Clear the DTCs stored in memory DTC Check / Clear.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(g) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(h) Check the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1655/37 is not output.
HINT: Codes other than code B1655/37 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- PERFORM SYMPTOM SIMULATION
8. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Replace the front seat inner belt LH and connect the connector Removal.
HINT: Perform the inspection using parts from a normal vehicle if possible.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(c) Clear the DTCs stored in memory DTC Check / Clear.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(f) Check the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1655/37 is not output.
HINT: Codes other than code B1655/37 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

NG -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- END
