Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Service Precautions).

2. Disconnect the battery.




3. Remove the evaporative emission vent solenoid valve.

* Remove the wiring harness plug (2).
* Remove the rubber retainer (3) from the bracket.
* Disconnect the line (1) from intake manifold.
* Disconnect the purging air line from the evaporative emission vent solenoid valve.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the evaporative emission vent solenoid valve.

* Connect the purging air line to the evaporative emission vent solenoid valve.
* Connect the line to the intake manifold.
* Install the rubber retainer to the bracket.
* Install the wiring harness plug.

2. Connect the battery.
3. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning).
4. Close the hood.
