Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Open the hood.
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Service Precautions).

2. Disconnect the battery.

* Detach the negative connection from the negative terminal.
* Loosen the nut.

3. Remove the oil level indicator guide tube (2).

* Remove the bolt (1).
* Remove the oil level indicator.

4. Raise the vehicle by its full height.

Note: If the engine oil level is at maximum, some oil may emerge when drawing out the oil level indicator guide tube

5. Place a drain pan underneath.
6. Remove the oil level indicator guide tube.

Installation Procedure

1. Insert the oil level indicator guide tube.
Use a NEW gasket.
2. Lower the vehicle by its full height.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the oil level indicator guide tube.

Tighten the bolt to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
Insert the oil level indicator.
4. Connect the battery.
Attach the negative connection to the negative terminal.

Tighten the nut to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

5. Fill up the engine oil.
6. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning).
7. Close the hood.
