Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

IGNITION COIL(S) REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the ignition coil cover.




2. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors from the ignition coils.
3. Remove the retaining bolts from the ignition coils.
4. Remove the ignition coils from the engine.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the ignition coil.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the ignition coil seals are properly seated to the valve cover.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the ignition coil retaining bolts.

Tighten the ignition coil retaining bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Replace the ignition coil connectors.
4. Install the ignition coil cover.
5. Install the ignition coil cover screws.

Tighten the screws to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
