Transmission shifting times incorrect
Fault symptoms
CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp on.
TCM in Limp-Home mode.
Conditions
Slippage time during shifting exceeds 1.3 s or is below 0.3 s.
Diagnostic help
There is normally some degree of slippage in the torque converter and in clutches and brakes during engagement. The control module stores the slippage time. The fault indicates primarily a mechanical defect. The mechanical components in the transmission are so worn that the control module adaptation is lost.
Diagnostic procedure
1 Check the fault symptom
Check the problem by driving the car as shown in the road test schedule, see Fault diagnosis, general, "Road test schedule." Note any fault symptoms. Tech 2 Scan Tool

- Perform a driving cycle:
- Drive the car at varying loads and engine speeds for 5 minutes.
- Evaluate the driving cycle:
- Make sure the trouble code has not recurred.
