Switch, Winter

To facilitate starting off on slippery road surfaces, the automatic transmission has a special winter position. The transmission then automatically prevents engagement of 1st and 2nd gears and the car moves off in 3rd gear.

The WINTER gear-shifting program can be engaged by means of a spring-loaded switch in the selector lever console.

With the switch activated, the voltage on pin 21 of the transmission control module is 0 V (ground). When WINTER is selected, the WINTER indicator lamp in the main instrument display panel lights up. WINTER can be selected in gear position D but then it will not be possible to select SPORT.

WINTER will be disconnected if
^ the switch is activated.
^ the ignition switch is turned to the ON or OFF position.
^ the fluid temperature is >140 °C.
^ limp-home mode is activated.
