Gear Lever
NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.
Disassembly
1. Remove gear lever housing.
2. Remove the locking plate holder.
3. Remove the spring that holds the locking plate.
4. Using a screwdriver snap out the rider which is governed from the ignition lock.
- Lift up the locking plate with its plastic fastener.
5. Remove the stop
6. Place the gear lever in reverse position and remove the screw that secures the gear rod to the gear lever.
7. Remove gear lever with its spherical socket by pressing in the three hooks on the spherical socket with a screwdriver.
Assembly
1. Place gear lever with its spherical socket in the gear lever housing.
- The O-ring should be placed between the spherical socket and the housing.
2. Install the screw which secures the gear rod to the gear lever.
- Turn the rod so that the hole for the locking pin faces upwards.
- Tightening torque: 18-22 Nm (13.5-16.5 ft. lbs.)
3. Install the stop.
4. Insert the locking plate.
- Check that the locking plate's two bearings (rubber bushing and hat) in the housing are in place.
5. Clip the ignition lock's rider into the locking plate.
6. Install the locking plate holder.
- The screws which secure the locking plate holder should be coated with thread locking fluid.
7. Install the locking plate spring.
8. Adjust the position on the locking plate with the screw on the locking plate holder so that the locking plate is level with the heel in the gear lever housing.
NOTE: The stop may not touch the locking plate during the adjustment.
9. Install the entire gear lever housing and gear rod.
