B1328
Potentiometer, main motors.
Fault Symptom
The hood Cannot be operated.
Note: Diagnostic trouble code B1309 may also be generated if there is an open circuit on any potentiometer. If diagnostic trouble codes B1328, B1323 and B1318 occur simultaneously, there is a fault in the +5v power supply or grounding of the potentiometers.
Condition
No reading from the potentiometer for the main motors. Open circuit on pin 30 (k42) or short circuit between the +5 power supply on pin 15 (k42) and the potentiometer input.
Diagnostic Procedure
1 Read the potentiometer value with the SAT Scan Tool. If there is an open circuit the reading will be about 0. If the Scan Tool shows a correct value, the trouble code should be cleared. Check that it is not generated afresh.
2 Unplug the potentiometer connector and check that about 5v is present on pin 1. Also check that pin 3 is connected to ground.
3 If the checks in point 2 are OK, there is an open circuit in the potentiometer. Change the potentiometer.
4 Check the wiring harness between pin 2 of the connector and pin 30 (K42) of the control module.
