Diode fault in the potentiometer

Fault Symptom

The hood cannot be operated.

Condition

Manufacturing defect. The diagnostic trouble code is generated if the polarity of the diodes in the potentiometers is reversed.

Diagnostic Procedure





1 Check whether a defective potentiometer has been fitted by mistake as a replacement unit by changing it again.

2 Unplug the connector from one of the potentiometers. Clear the diagnostic trouble code and turn the ignition switch to ON and then to OFF. Check whether the diagnostic trouble code is generated afresh.

Repeat the test on the other potentiometers to ascertain which of them is defective. Change the defective potentiometer.
