The fifth bow latch microswitch is shorted to ground.

Condition

Shorting to ground on pin 25 (K42).

Diagnostic Procedure





1 Connect an ISAT Scan Tool and read "5TH BOW LATCH". Clear the trouble code if the ISAT Scan Tool shows correct readings. Check that the code is not generated afresh. If the scan tool shows shorting to ground, see point 2.

2 Unplug the connector from the microswitch, checking on the scan tool at the same time to see what happens. If the scan tool changes from "shorting to ground" to "open circuit", there is a short circuit in the microswitch. Change the microswitch.

3 Connect a BOB and check the wiring harness for shorting to ground between pin 2 of the microswitch connector and pin 25 (k42) of the control module.
