Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Service Precautions).

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the right side engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Using the fixture, raise the engine assembly.




5. Remove the lower drive belt tensioner nut (2).
6. Remove the upper drive belt tensioner bolt (1) and remove the tensioner.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the drive belt tensioner.

Tighten the bolt (1) and nut (2) to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).

2. Lower the engine assembly enough to position the right side engine mount in place.
3. Install the right side engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the engine support fixture.
5. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
