Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement

Special Tools
* J 45296-1 - Frame Insulator Remover/Installer
* J 7079-2 - Universal Driver Handle

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the flywheel or flexible plate. Refer to Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Replacement (Service and Repair) and Engine Flywheel Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Refer to Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal with housing (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the new crankshaft rear oil seal using J 45296-1 - Frame Insulator Remover/Installer and J 7079-2 - Universal Driver Handle.
2. Install crankshaft position sensor. Refer to Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Install the flywheel or flexible plate. Refer to Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Replacement (Service and Repair) and Engine Flywheel Replacement (Service and Repair).
