Clutch Pedal Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (SKY) (Service and Repair)Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Solstice) (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the clutch pedal position sensor.




3. Remove the clutch master cylinder push rod retainer (2) from the clutch pedal arm integral stud.
4. Remove the clutch master cylinder push rod (1) from the clutch pedal arm integral stud.




5. Remove the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nut (5).
6. Remove the clutch pedal bracket to cowl bolt (4).
7. Remove the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nuts (2).
8. Remove the clutch pedal assembly (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the clutch pedal assembly (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nuts (2).

Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 in lb).

3. Install the clutch pedal bracket to cowl bolt (4).

Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Install the clutch pedal bracket to cowl nut (5).

Tighten the nut to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




5. Install the clutch master cylinder push rod (1) to the clutch pedal arm integral stud.
6. Install the clutch master cylinder push rod retainer (2) to the clutch pedal arm integral stud.
7. Connect the electrical connector to the clutch pedal position sensor.
8. Install the instrument panel left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (SKY) (Service and Repair)Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Solstice) (Service and Repair).

Warning

Replacement or reprogramming of the ECM, or replacement of the clutch pedal position sensor (CPPS) or clutch pedal requires that a CPPS learn procedure be performed. Failure to perform the CPPS learn procedure may result in personal injury or damage to the vehicle or its components if the vehicle is in gear and the starter motor is accidentally engaged.

9. Perform the clutch pedal position sensor learn procedure. Refer to Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Learn (Programming and Relearning).
