Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and suitably support the hood.
2. Mark the position of the bolts to the hood latch (1).
3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

1. the 3 bolts
2. The hood latch (1)

4. Remove the hood latch release cable (2) from the hood latch (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the hood latch release cable (2) to the hood latch (1). Secure the latch with 4 bolts. Do NOT completely tighten the bolts.
2. Align the striker shaft with the center groove of the hood latch.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Align the hood latch (1) with the front fender. Refer to Body Front End Adjustment Specifications (2 Door) ()Body Front End Adjustment Specifications (4 Door) ().

Tighten the hood latch bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb in).

4. Lower the hood.
