DTC 119

DTC 119 Chart:

Fuel Injectors Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the fuel injectors using a General FET Driver (GFD). The GFD has the ability to detect a fault on any of the injector circuits If a fault is detected, the GFD signals the PCM to set DTC 119.

DTC 119 WILL SET WHEN
- DTC 16 or 35 not set.
- Injector driver GFD fault line indicates a fault.
- Above conditions for over 0.5 second.

ACTION TAKEN (PCM WILL DEFAULT TO)
When DTC 119 sets, the PCM will take a snapshot of the conditions present when the DTC occurred. With a current DTC 119 set, the PCM will illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (Service Engine Soon) and PCM goes to "Open Loop" operation.

DTC 119 WILL CLEAR WHEN
The fault no longer exists and the ignition switch is cycled "OFF" and "ON."

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.

1. Checks power feed from the fuse through the injectors to the PCM.
2. Check circuit from fuse to the injectors.
3. Checks for short to ground from the injector to the PCM.
4. Checks for short to B + in the injector circuit.
5. Checks for a poor connection at injector or bad injector and an open in injector driver circuit or faulty PCM.
