Removal And Installation




TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

Removal and Installation


REMOVAL

1.Separate the propeller shaft from transfer. Then suspend it by wire, etc. Removal And Installation.

CAUTION:
Constant velocity joint must be handled with care.
2.Remove right side drive shaft. Front Drive Shaft Left Side.
3.Remove catalyst convertor support bracket (RH). Removal And Installation.





4.Remove heat insulator (1).





5.Remove transfer gusset (1).
6.Remove catalyst convertor support bracket rear. "4WD
(AWD) : Removal and Installation".
7.Remove rear torque rod and rear torque rod bracket. Refer to
Removal And Installation.
8.Remove bolts fixing transaxle assembly and transfer assembly.





9.Remove transfer assembly from the vehicle.






CAUTION:
- Never damage ring gear shaft.
- Be careful when removing transfer assembly form the vehicle because it is heavy.

INSTALLATION

Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.





- When installing the transfer assembly to the transaxle assembly, install the mounting bolts following the standard below.






CAUTION:
- When installing transfer assembly to transaxle assembly, replace differential side oil seal (Converter housing side) of transaxle. Removal And Installation.
- Never damage differential side oil seal (Converter housing side) of transaxle.





- When installing heat insulator (1), tighten the mounting bolts and nut in numerical order.

Temporary tightening : 1 --> 2 --> 3
Final tightening (Specified torque) : 4 --> 5 --> 6

- Perform inspection after installation. Inspection.
