B2098 IGNITION RELAY ON STUCK

Description

The ignition relay integrated in IPDM E/R is operated with ignition switch ON signal from the ignition switch.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE


1. PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSIS

1.Turn the ignition switch ON.
2.Erase "Self Diagnostic Result" of IPDM E/R.
3.Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait for 1 second or more.
4.Turn the ignition switch ON. Check "Self Diagnostic Result" again.
Is DTC "B2098" displayed?
YES- .
NO- Intermittent Incident.


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK IGNITION RELAY OUTPUT SIGNAL

1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect BCM harness connectors.
3.Turn the ignition switch ON.
4.Check voltage between BCM harness connectors and the ground.





Is the measurement value normal?
YES- Replace BCM. Exploded View.
NO- GO TO 2.

2. CHECK IGNITION RELAY OUTPUT SIGNAL OPEN CIRCUIT

1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connectors.
3.Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connectors and BCM harness connectors.





Does continuity exist?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- Repair the harness or connector.

3. CHECK IGNITION RELAY OUTPUT SIGNAL SHORT CIRCUIT

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connectors and the ground.





Does continuity exist?
YES- Repair the harness or connector.
NO- Replace IPDM E/R.
