Inspection Procedure 1




INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1: When the Brake Pedal is Depressed, Auto-cruise Control System is not Cancelled.

COMMENT

The stoplight switch circuit is suspected.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (THE MOST LIKELY CAUSES FOR THIS CASE:)

- Malfunction of the stoplight switch.
- Damaged harness or connector.
- Malfunction of the ECM[ M/T] or PCM[ A/T].

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Read the auto-cruise control system diagnostic trouble code.

Read the auto-cruise control system diagnostic trouble codes. (Refer to Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

Q. Is DTC P15 set?

YES Refer to DTC 15, Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedures - DTC P15: Stoplight Switch System.
NO Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Check the symptoms.

Q. When the brake pedal is depressed, auto-cruise control system is cancelled?

YES It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent. How to Cope With Intermittent Malfunctions).
NO Replace the ECM [M/T] or PCM [A/T]. Encrypted Code Registration Criteria Table).
Then go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Check the symptoms.

Q. When the clutch pedal is depressed, auto-cruise control system is cancelled?

YES The procedure is complete.
NO Return to Step 1.
