Replacing Expansion Tank for Hydraulic Brake Actuation




34 31 181 - Replacing expansion tank for hydraulic brake actuation





Note:
Read and comply with General Information Service and Repair.
Draw brake fluid out of expansion tank using a suction bottle.
Use a suction bottle used exclusively for drawing off brake fluid.
Do not reuse drawn out brake fluid.





Remove seal (1).
Press release tabs on left and right in direction of arrow and remove cover.





Disconnect plug connection (1).
Detach feed hose (2) for clutch hydraulics.

Note:
The supply hose must be secured in the vertical position so that no fluid can emerge.





Unclip vacuum hose for brake booster at top of expansion tank.
Release screw (1).

Installation:
Tightening torque, 34 31 3AZ 34 31 Brake Master Cylinder.

Lift expansion tank vertically from brake master cylinder.





Installation:
Check O-rings (1) and replace if necessary.
Push the expansion tank vertically onto the master brake cylinder.
