Removing and Installing Rear Storage Compartment




51 16 216 - Removing and installing rear storage compartment





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove handle for handbrake lever Replacing Handle for Handbrake Lever





Important!
Do not pull handbrake gaiter out of center console.

Release catches (1) of handbrake gaiter (illustration: left side, right side is symmetrical) and pull gaiter up until cable strap (2) is visible.

Release cable strap (2).

Installation:
Make sure cable strap (2) is correctly wrapped round handbrake gaiter and grip.

Remove handbrake gaiter.





Release screw (1).
Remove base (2) in cup holder and release screw underneath.
Pull storage compartment upwards to release clips (3).
Disconnect switch (depending on equipment specification).
Feed rear storage compartment out of front storage compartment and remove towards top.

Installation:
Make sure that no cables are trapped when installing the storage compartment.





Installation:
Clips (1) and guide (2) on storage compartment (3) must not be damaged.
If necessary, replace clips (1).
