Normal Operation

The yaw rate sensor, lateral accelerometer and longitudinal accelerometer are contained in one assembly called the stability control sensor cluster. The sensor cluster measures vehicle yaw rate, lateral and longitudinal acceleration and then sends the information to the ABS module along a secondary Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. This CAN bus is used only for communication between the sensor cluster and the ABS module. The information sent to the ABS module is used to help determine if the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system needs to be activated.

Voltage is supplied to the sensor cluster by the ABS module along circuit CCA09 (VT/BN), ground is provided by the ABS module along circuit RCA09 (GN/VT) and the sensor information is transmitted to the ABS module along circuits VCA23 (BU/WH) and circuit VCA24 (GN/OG).

DTC B2741 / DTC C1279-C2778 / DTC U1901:

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Sensor cluster incorrectly mounted
- Sensor cluster internal fault
- ABS module

PINPOINT TEST G: DTCs B2741, C1279, C1280, C1281, C1282, C1963, C2769, C2770, C2777, C2778 AND U1901

NOTICE: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multi-meter probes.

NOTE: The vehicle must be on level ground, not on a hoist and at a complete standstill when calibrating the sensor cluster and reading PIDs. Any vehicle movement will result in false values for this test.
