Pinpoint Test G: The Battery Saver Does Not Deactivate After Timeout

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 89, Interior Lamps for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

During the battery saver function, the Lighting Control Module (LCM) supplies circuit 705 (LG/OG) with voltage. The battery saver provides power to circuit 705 (LG/OG) for a predetermined time after the ignition switch has been cycled from the ON position to the OFF position. Once the predetermined timeout has elapsed, the LCM deactivates the battery saver and removes power from circuit 705 (LG/OG).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- LCM

PINPOINT TEST G: THE BATTERY SAVER DOES NOT DEACTIVATE AFTER TIMEOUT

-------------------------------------------------
G1 CHECK CIRCUIT 705 (LG/OG) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LCM C2145c.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between the LCM C2145c-18, circuit 705 (LG/OG), and ground.

- Is any voltage present?

Yes
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
GO to G2.

-------------------------------------------------
G2 CHECK FOR CORRECT LCM OPERATION

- Disconnect all the LCM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the LCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new LCM. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
