Test T: The Air Bag Warning Indicator Is Never/Always On

PINPOINT TEST T: THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON

Normal Operation
The instrument cluster receives the supplemental restraint system (SRS) status from the restraints control module (RCM) over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. If a SRS concern is detected, the RCM sets a DTC and sends a message to the instrument cluster to turn on the air bag warning indicator. If the SRS status message is missing for more than 5 seconds, the instrument cluster sets DTC U0151 and defaults the air bag warning indicator on. If the SRS status message is deemed invalid for more than 5 seconds, the instrument cluster sets DTC U2023 and defaults the air bag warning indicator on.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- RCM
- Instrument cluster
