Test G: The DVD Player Does Not Operate Correctly - No Audio
PINPOINT TEST G: THE DVD PLAYER DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - NO AUDIONormal Operation
The DVD player routes audio signals to the audio unit. In single-play mode, the audio unit plays the DVD audio on all speakers. In dual-play mode, the DVD player controls the rear speakers and the headphones.
DTC U0196 (Lost Communication With Entertainment Control Module - Rear [AUX]) - sets when the audio unit has lost communication with the DVD player for greater than 5 seconds. This results in loss of DVD audio. If the scan tool does not communicate with the DVD player, refer to Information Bus (Module Communications Network). If the scan tool communicates with the DVD player, follow the procedure in this pinpoint test.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- DVD player
- Audio unit
